If you are a highly motivated student interested in iron homeostasis, molecular biology, and/or plant biology, our lab could be a great fit for you. There are many ways to get involved:
During the semester
Senior Honors Theses provide an in-depth research experience for Biology and BCBP majors. Students usually start their projects the summer before their senior year and continue with their research throughout senior year.
Gregory S. Call Fellows work as undergraduate research assistants during the academic year.
Special Topics Students develop and execute a for-credit one-semester research project.
During the summer
Summer Science Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) students perform research in the lab for 10 weeks during the summer. This fellowship is a great introduction to research for younger students who may not have prior research experience. Students in this program present their research in a poster session in the fall.
Gregory S. Call Fellows also work during the summer. This research opportunity applies to all class years, regardless of prior research experience or involvement in the lab.
If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Professor Jeong at jjeong [at] amherst.edu.
